Weekend outlook
Conditions remain unsettled for some

Wind forecast for Sunday 06.09 showing a deep Atlantic low west of Ireland, with winds around 30 mph across Ireland and Scotland and 20 mph near London.
An Atlantic low brings stronger winds on Sunday across western regions.

The weekend looks to remain rather unsettled as high pressure dominates southern Europe and low pressure hangs over the north-west, keeping the UK and Ireland in a changeable set-up.

Saturday begins rather unsettled thanks to a southerly to south-westerly airflow from the pressure situation. This brings rain and showers at times to parts of northern England and a generally dull day under cloud across much of Ireland.

Winds begin to pick up through Saturday, initially across Scotland, into northern England. This intensifies further on Sunday, particularly in coastal areas.

A passing low pressure system to the west of Scotland delivers those stronger gusts. Reaching up to 45 mph for Northern Ireland, and the north-western coast of Ireland. Similar gusts will also be felt across western Scotland, though remaining calmer for most of England.

Amid the gusty and showery conditions there will still be drier and sunnier spells at times, with temperatures at or around average in the north and east.

Further south, it may get rather warm and humid by Sunday with daily highs around the mid-20s.
