Weather outlook

Much of the rain seen on Monday has cleared, though two clear bands remain across western areas of the UK, and towards the south-east.

By early afternoon, showers develop across Ireland, while a risk of thundery showers forms in western Scotland.

It remains a windswept outlook, with highs of 40 mph in Dublin and across western Scotland, before gusts grow stronger later in the week.
