Weekend outlook
Warm days with a chance of showers

Weather map of the UK showing sunny conditions across England and Ireland with temperatures around 15 to 17 degrees, while a band of rain approaches from the west over the Atlantic.Plenty of sunshine on Saturday across the UK, duller for Ireland.

It’s shaping up to be a mixed weekend across the UK and Ireland, with plenty of warm, sunny weather to start before a cloudier Sunday.

Saturday starts a little mixed. In the UK, low cloud and fog in the east will clear through the morning, leaving a dry day with sunny spells, although the northeast stays cloudier highs do reach the low-20s across England and Wales.

Ireland sees a day of scattered showers mixed with sunny spells as a weak front lingers. It will feel mild to warm for most but clouds return again towards the evening.

High pressure remains in charge on Sunday, with plenty of sunshine after early fog or low cloud clears. Isolated showers are possible in Ireland as well as western to northern areas of the UK.

Despite this, temperatures remain pleasant, making it another good day to be outdoors between these short rain showers. Best to keep a brolly handy rather than a coat though, since the day's highs are still reaching up to the upper-teens in most areas, low-teens in Scotland.

Into early next week, the settled pattern continues with lots of sunshine overall thanks to the higher pressure, though some chilly, misty starts are likely with temperatures around average.
