Weekend outlook
Dry but blustery weekend weather

Weather radar showing the UK and Ireland. Light rain falls in Scotland, clear or slightly cloudy elsewhere. Some showers are will fall over north-west Scotland on Saturday, but it should remain dry elsewhere.

Enjoy the weekend weather, it may be the last bout of dry weather for a little while as winds grow stronger.

For most areas, the weekend will bring dry, if slightly overcast, days. There are some showers hanging around for parts of Scotland, while gusting winds also reach 40 mph in the west of the country.

Light cloud marks both days, thicker in parts over western areas of Ireland, though temperatures are peaking in the low- to mid-20s for south-east England, no surprise this region will see the clearest skies.

Sunday sees some more widespread rain, though this falls mostly in the early hours with patches of light rain falling, and dissipating, over Wales and north-west England around Manchester.

It will be slightly warmer compared to Saturday, but general conditions remain in place, with more widespread blustery conditions, but the strongest winds still confined mostly to Scotland and parts of northern Ireland.

A near cloudless evening across the board, but as Monday arrives, a heavy band of rain is pushing in from the Atlantic, which will be a common theme for the week to come.
