Weekend outlook
Changeable Saturday, more settled Sunday

Wind forecast for Saturday 19.09 showing 40 mph winds near Glasgow, 35 mph around Aberdeen, Dublin and Liverpool, and 30 mph across southern Britain.
Another active day on the WindRadar for Saturday.

It's a weekend split in two distinct days of weather, remaining unsettled on Saturday before a calmer, clearer Sunday.

Saturday brings another blustery day, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph in western Scotland, more widely between 30 and 40 mph across much of the UK and Ireland. A mix of cloud and showers spread for most during the day on the WeatherRadar.

The wind begins to ease in the night for those away from Scotland, while temperatures reach the low-20s across central to eastern England, and the high teens elsewhere out of Scotland.

Rain continues overnight in Sunday, leaving a generally dry day with isolated showers in places.

Saturday's gusts also ease fully, for a calmer outlook with plenty of sunshine across England, mixed spells of cloud and sun elsewhere in the UK though it remains relatively dull across Ireland.

The day's temperatures remain in line with Saturday, albeit a few degrees cooler with highs of around 20°C across the southern coast of England.

Numerous thunderstorms are sweeping across La Palma. The many lightning symbols on the radar and lightning map show that there is heavy lightning activity across large parts of the island. The thunderstorms are striking particularly in the island’s interior and in the south. On the right, you can see the aftermath: a large fallen tree has buried a car beneath it. Emergency services are clearing up the damage. So, along with the thunderstorms, not only heavy rain but also gusts of wind can become a problem.
