Staying warm for spring
Thunder risk as heat eases slightly

Slightly cooler on Thursday, away from south-west England and southern Ireland.

Looking for relief from the heat? There is a brief dip but conditions look to remain warm.

Wednesday sees a big drop for some. Widespread low cloud across eastern Scotland, into northern and eastern England sees temperatures drop considerably. Highs are at just 13 to 18 °C.

Further west and south-west though, it remains sunny and very warm, highs around 32 °C remain in south-west England with a sustained chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the early morning.

Thursday sees the temperatures rise slightly again, mostly sunny and warm in the UK but increasingly cloudy in Ireland, moving into south-west England and Wales later in the day.

Light rain or showers are again possible in the west and south-west during the afternoon and evening, with highs still around 29 to 30 °C across southern England.

Looking at Friday, into the weekend, it is turning cloudier with patchy rain in Scotland and northern Ireland while still mainly fine elsewhere. Low risk of isolated thundery showers remains but plenty of sunny spells as well.
