Breakfast brief
Risk of thundery showers later

Stubborn cloud lifting through the day.

Brightening up with scattered showers developing, turning thundery later in the day.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the breakfast brief, offering your daily weather forecast and a sneak peek at the day's news.

Weather outlook

Another day of stubborn cloud hanging over the bulk of the UK to start the morning, with a scattering of showers developing. Brighter across Ireland though.

More sunny spells breaking through as the day wears on with cloud dissipating, but the shower risk continuing and worsening later in the day.

The risk across large parts of central southern England and Wales, but particularly so in the south-west with a risk of frequent lightning, hail, gusty winds and torrential downpours.

Showers easing into the evening, perhaps returning from the south later in the night.
