More disruption expected
Storm Boelo blows through the weekend

Weather map for Saturday 24.10 showing a swirling Atlantic low, Storm Boelo, west of Scotland and widespread blue rain bands across the UK, Ireland and northern France.
Storm Boelo's swirling rain band moves over the UK and Ireland.

Gusts of up to 80 mph are expected in Scotland this weekend, with heavy rain across the UK and Ireland as Storm Boelo follows Austen.

The second storm in as many days will bring more widespread gusts of 60 to 70 mph across Scotland, with the more severe 80 mph gusts hitting exposted coasts to the west.

While Scotland will be the worst hit, gusts of 40 to 55 mph are expected across the UK and Ireland, again stronger in the west. Be sure to double-check garden furniture is secure and vehicles are parked away from potential debris.

The impact of Boelo grows stronger Saturday evening, with the most severe winds arriving early Sunday morning.

Through Saturday heavy rain will spread across both countries, first spreading eastwards across Ireland to start the day before moving into the UK as the day goes on.

By Saturday evening acculmulations of up to 90 mm are possible in Eyri (Snowdonia), up to 70 mm around Exmoor, and 60 mm in Connemara. Keep an eye on local flood alerts.
