Unsettled outlook
Gusty week with plenty of showers

Weather map of the UK and nearby Europe showing scattered blue rain bands across Britain and Ireland, with a rain cloud icon over Scotland on Wednesday 13.05.
Plenty of scattered showers during the week.

Temperatures have dropped, and incoming low pressure in the North Sea will keep conditions generally unsettled and changeable too.

Tuesday begins chilly, but bright particularly to the south and south-east of the UK. Elsewhere, a frontal band moves through with patchy rain.

More unsettled, showery conditions follow these showers in the north and north-west, combined with fresh winds you may need to reach for a raincoat rather than a brolly.

Into Wednesday, unsettled conditions remain with low pressure positioned in the North Sea. This brings scattered showers with sunny intervals.

Some of these showers could turn heavy and thundery, with small hail possible too.

Thursday onwards remains changeable and cool with temperatures often just below average and a risk of ground frost overnight where skies clear.
