Weekend weather
Mixed outlook but better by Sunday

There's a mixed bag in terms of weather this weekend, but it ends in the right direction.

Saturday remains changable for many. Sunny spells across the south, mixed with scattered showers over Ireland and Scotland meaning it would be wise to keep the raincoat handy with some of those showers turning heavy.

The coat will also be needed with the day feeling rather cool, especially in the wind to the north with temperatures in the low-teens. Showers ease as the day goes on, while in Ireland it turns brighter from the west first.

Sunday is the better day for any outdoor plans. High pressure starts to build, bringing drier, brighter weather and lighter winds.

Most areas will enjoy some decent sunshine, though a few showers could still pop up in Scotland and northeast England. It’ll feel more pleasant overall, even if temperatures remain similar.

Looking ahead, early next week stays mostly dry with sunny spells, but an easterly breeze could bring more cloud and a few showers into eastern areas, possibly making it feel a bit more unsettled at times.
