Change into the weekend
Unsettled before warmer weather returns

Satellite weather map of the UK on Thursday 11.06 showing a broad band of rain stretching from Scotland through northern England to southern Britain, with a rain cloud icon and temperatures around 12 - 17°C.
Unsettled with plenty of rain is the outlook for the week ahead.

The week ahead remains unsettled and on the cooler side, but from the weekend temperatures look set to rise once again.

Tuesday begins bright to the east, with scattered showers to the west of both the UK and Ireland. These showers move eastwards through the day, turning heavy and thundery in some points with a risk of small hail.

Temperatures remain fairly cool, made to feel chillier by growing winds on Tuesday too.

Little change to come on Wednesday with further showers at times and bright or sunny spells in between. The day does start on the colder side, with lows around or just below 5 °C in parts of northern England and Scotland overnight from Tuesday.

From Thursday, a fresh frontal system brings more widespread outbreaks of rain, spreading into Friday too with plenty of rain or showers in places before high pressure builds.

Into the weekend, settled conditions return, with a notable rise in temperatures in tow across. Most prominantly across the west and south of the UK and Ireland too.

The summery spell should persist into the coming week with warmth above-average for this time of the year.
