Tricky visibility
Fourth and final supermoon rises

Supermoon
The supermoon will appear brighter and larger in the evening sky.

The fourth and final supermoon of 2024 rises tonight, with visibility looking poor outside of south-east England.

The November full Moon, also referred to as the Beaver Moon, is extra-special this year. Closing out four consecutive supermoons since August.

During a supermoon, our lunar companion appears around 14% larger in the night sky and shines around 30% brighter too.

The spectacle will be obscured for a lot of us in the UK and Ireland, with overcast conditions and rainfall continuing, though there are clear skies primarily over England.

The main event

Tonight's supermoon officially peaks at 09:29 pm, but will rise from around 03:00 pm onwards. Check the astro info card for the moon rise time in your area!

If you do miss the supermoon tonight, it will still appear larger and brighter for a few days.

Check the WeatherRadar for your area, and if you manage to capture the sight, be sure to show us via the Uploader!
