Trick or treat?
Pumpkins suffer from summer drought

It's Halloween and Weather & Radar Meteorologist Tamsin Green recently visited a pumpkin farm to investigate how the summer drought may have impacted the pumpkins. But is it all trick and no treat?

It's officially Halloween and our decorations are up to get into the spooky spirit. But one thing you might not have considered, is how your pumpkins could have been impacted by the weather this year. Have you noticed a difference?

Many farms across Britain are reporting a shortage, as a result of the drought we experienced through summer. Pumpkins are made up of 80% water, so without proper irrigation since being planted in May, they have certainly suffered this season. But how?

Ian Pigott, owner of The Pop Up Farm in Hertfordshire, England, says he has certainly felt an impact in the size of his pumpkins in comparison to normal, but they were still plentiful.

Take a listen of the video, to find out exactly how the pumpkins have been affected this season. Don't forget to keep an eye on your WeatherRadar too, to find out if the weather on Halloween will be tricking or treating you tonight!
