Transitioning to snow - Remaining unsettled throughout the week

The UK has seen rain fall every day of 2026 so far, and the trend continues this week too.

Tuesday seese another band of rain move in from the Atlantic, dousing southern England where rain totals are already at average February amounts, heading north-east.

Rainfall accumulations are higher in Scotland. Aboyne, Aberdeenshire is already close to half of the average annual precipitation amounts. Later this week, the rain turns to snow.

Large swathes of the UK, and eastern Ireland, can expect snowfall to end the week on Friday.
