Breakfast brief
Thunderstorms to develop overnight

Sunshine and showers during the day, with temperatures below-average for most.

Showers will develop during the day, with a risk of thunderstorms then developing overnight.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the breakfast brief, offering your daily weather forecast and a sneak peek at the day's news.

Weather outlook

A mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers through the day. Feeling fresh too, with temperatures reaching the mid to high teens for most, locally low-twenties in the south-east.

Through the evening and overnight showers will become confined to parts of central southern England, where they will gain some intensity, bringing a risk of lightning and sharp downpours as thunderstorms look to develop.

By early Thursday morning, there may be some localised flooding for the commute, with the possibility of some surface water on the roads.
