Stretches over 4,000 km: Front from the Azores to Scotland

Stretches over 4,000 km
Front from the Azores to Scotland

The frontal system stretches along western Europe.

The calm days are quickly disappearing as a mammoth weather front pushes over the UK, Ireland, and Europe at the end of the week.

On Friday, a rapidly deepening low-pressure area will bring heavy rainfall, and strong winds.

Storm Éowyn was named on Tuesday.

Stormy conditions develop late Thursday evening and throughout Friday.

Despite this, the south-westerly wind also brings milder air, resulting in temperatures rising to low double-digits.

A white arrow marks the typhoon’s predicted track towards the north-west, in the direction of Taiwan. To the west of the storm lie the Philippines, with the cities of Manila and Cebu; to the north of these lies Taiwan, with Taipei. Further west, the Chinese coast, including Hong Kong, and parts of Vietnam can be seen. The coloured wind map shows predominantly green areas outside the storm’s core, indicating significantly weaker winds.
