Lots of fresh snow
Heavy snowfall in Scandinavia

Weather radar of Scandinavia shows snowfall on Thursday.WeatherRadar forecast for Scandinavia: Snowfall will continue intermittently on Thursday and Friday.

A powerful low-pressure system over northern Finland will push cold and humid polar air far south in the coming days, bringing an early start to winter with heavy snow in northern Scandinavia.

It is not only in northern regions that large amounts of snow are accumulating. In Norway, it is also snowing heavily relatively far south, including in the area between Bergen and Trondheim. Especially in the mountainous regions, 50 centimetres to 1 metre of fresh snow may fall across a wide area.

In addition, temperatures are plummeting. On Friday, the maximum temperatures will mostly only reach around 0 degrees or even lower.

Meanwhile, the UK will also see snow in the coming days, though only over the altitudes of the Scottish Highlands.
