Violent storms have ripped through a total of six countries, causing severe devastation in its wake.

The extreme storms follow weeks of record-breaking heat and drought, which provided them with fuel to rip through parts of central and southern Europe.

The storms travelled from Spain, with a starting point in Barcelona, all the way to Czechia, with a total of six countries left reeling in its impacts.

In Corsica, earlier in its track, winds of up to 140mph were recorded, uprooting trees and damaging houses. In France, the mainland was hit with power cuts, Venice in Italy saw brickwork dislodged from the cathedral bell tower, whilst seaside resorts in Tuscany were flooded.

As the storm then barrelled through Austria, torrential rain caused devastating mudslides, and in Slovenia, roofs were ripped off of buildings.

Unfortunately, since the storms, several fatalities have been reported, with a total of twelve across the six countries; a result of falling trees, dangerous waters out at sea, and violent winds causing objects to dangerously hurl through the air.
