Hurricane Danielle
Can hurricanes hit the British Isles?

With talk of Hurricane Danielle hitting the UK and Ireland, we thought it time to clear up the rumours.

The Atlantic Ocean is finally ramping up with tropical activity, and the newly demoted, post-tropical cyclone Danielle is headed towards Europe.

Once tropical storms are no longer in water temperatures above 26C, they lose their tropical characteristics, so it is not possible for weather systems to still be of tropical nature at our latitudes.

But how exactly can Danielle, and other post-tropical systems still influence our weather pattern?

Check out the video above to find out how the weather forecast is looking for this weekend as Danielle nears, and where exactly the system will be tracking.
