The weather is varied across Europe, while much of Central Europe is seeing cool and changeable weather, Spain has been enjoying the height of summer for the past few weeks.

Temperatures there have been above 30 °C for around three weeks, and in Andalusia the highs are even approaching 40 °C.

As the weekend approaches, the heat is slowly making its way northwards. In France, temperatures are set to rise to around 30 °C as early as Friday.

After that, the warm summer air will continue to spread across Central Europe, into the UK and Ireland too.

Weather models still differ slightly as to exactly when the warm weather will spread. Some are forecasting temperatures of over 25 °C as early as this weekend.

At the same time, a high-pressure system is building up. As a result, the weather will become generally calmer, and the sun will make more frequent and longer appearances.
