Supercell danger
Europe's storm situation still volatile

Severe thunderstorms hit France on Thursday. Gusts of wind and hail caused damage. A series of lightning displays continued into the night in the Netherlands and Germany.

Severe weather is once again forecast across Europe today. Severe thunderstorms are sweeping through an area stretching from southern Germany to the Czech Republic.

There is also a high risk of severe weather from southern Switzerland to the Southern Alps. In addition to extreme gusts of wind, heavy downpours and large hailstones, tornadoes are also possible in some areas.
