Breakfast brief
Dull but dry for most as winds fade

A keen northeasterly wind remains noticeable in some regions, but is slowly fading today.

Some light rain in areas, but mainly a dry and dull day with cloud cover as gusting winds start to fade.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the Breakfast Brief, providing your first forecast of the day and a chance to catch up on what you may have missed.

Weather outlook

Winds calm across Ireland and Scotland, with some gusts remaining for England and Wales though now much weaker than those delivered by Storm Darragh over the weekend.

It is a much drier day for most compared to recent days. Some rain over east to south-east England through the day, with light showers elsewhere, but the heavier downpours have now moved on.

Glasgow begin and end the day with sub-zero temperatures, but there are highs in the upper single-digits for most. Chilly too along western Ireland.
