Deeper into England: Snowfall eases before overnight return

Snowy showers mixing with wider rainfall gradually ease later, but wider snowfall arrives in the region overnight.

Light snow was mostly unable to settle amid rain this morning, these conditions continue into the afternoon.

Into Thursday morning, there is wider snowfall expected across the eastern coastline from southern Scotland, south through Newcastle, before curving inland to the Midlands.
