Dust devil spotted in Wales

A swirling dust devil was spotted on a construction site in Wales on Thursday, lifting dust and dirt from the ground before quickly dissipating.

In the video captured in Magor, Wales, the devil can be seen forming and rapidly gaining form before disappearing soon after.

These dust devils may resemble a tornado, but lack any strength to inflict real damage.

Dust devilIn wide, open, and dry areas, dust devils can grow much larger but still lack any real force.

The phenomenon is occasionally observed on hot summer days, caused by the rapid rise of heated air into the atmosphere through cooler air above.

When this happens, an updraft is created, and the spinning can begin.

Wales is no stranger to these dust devils. In 2021, workers at Tiny Brewing Company in Newport, Wales spotted a particularly active devil outside.
