At least 46 people have been confirmed to have passed away after the arrival of Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam this weekend.

A further 22 people are missing amid landslides and flooding according to the country's disaster management agency, with around 300 injuries reported.

The Phong Chau Bridge, close to Hanoi, partially collapsed, sending 10 cars and two scooters into the Red River. Three people have been rescued from the water, with another 13 still missing.

Yagi is Asia's most powerful storm of the year so far, with a strength equivalent to a category 5 hurricane, and resulted in power outages impacting millions.

After making landfall on Saturday, Yagi weakened to a tropical depression on Sunday and continues to bring risks of further landslides and flooding

Prior to reaching Vietnam, Yagi impacted parts of the Philippines and southern China.
