Breakfast brief
Fine and dry day ahead for most

Only western Scotland see sustained rain and snow today.

It is a broadly fine day ahead, with some cloud cover but dry for most.

Kickstarting your day

Welcome to the Breakfast Brief, your first forecast for the day and a chance to catch up on what you may have missed.

Weather outlook

Wednesday brings us a chilly start, but only reaching freezing over the Highlands after overnight snow, and parts of southern Wales. Later in the day things do warm, reaching double-digits in areas of southern and western Ireland.

Otherwise, a calm and dry day across both countries. A patch of stubborn rain and snow over western Scotland and brief rain showers in both north-west and south-west England the only disruption.
