Before Thursday downpour
Final thunderstorms hanging around

Once last burst of thundery showers in the south-east today.

Thundery showers are mostly confined to the south-east of England today after widespread unsettled conditions to start the week.

Wednesday afternoon sees showers moving through the area once again, and once again these are ripe to produce short-lived, but intense thunderstorms. While the main area will be in the south-east, pockets could break out across the eastern regions of England and Scotland.

This preceeds a Thursday washout with a fresh front producing widespread rain across the UK and Ireland as it passes by during the day.

There is better news arriving with the weekend, as high-pressure returns helping produce more settled conditions into next week.

Temperatures will begin to rise once again, back to highs of around 30 °C in parts of the UK.
