Bank Holiday outlook
Wind warnings and widespread rain

You may need a change of plans, this Bank Holiday Monday sees widespread rainfall and weather warnings for strong winds.

From the morning, rain falls over Ireland and western Scotland before pushing east over the UK, turning lighter in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, strong winds grow through the day, peaking at around 40 mph in Edinburgh and 45 mph (72 km/h) in Cork, but widespread gusts of 30-35 mph are to be expected across the UK and Ireland.

These conditions persist into Tuesday, with an area of low-pressure to the north of Scotland responsible for the gusting winds.
