Bank holiday outlook
Rain turns showery as winds grow

The first band of rainfall arrives Friday evening.

Plans may need to be changed for this Bank Holiday weekend, with plenty of rainfall and gusting winds arriving over the break.

From Friday, the first weather front pushed over Ireland bringing heavy rain, this continues pushing east into the evening reaching western Scotland and North-West England by Friday evening.

Into Saturday, the rainfall turns into mostly showers with variable cloud cover over the UK, as another band of heavier rainfall reaches Ireland from the afternoon.

Again turning showery by Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday with sunnier spells in the UK, but with stronger gusts spreading from a passing low-pressure system.

Meanwhile in Ireland it remains unsettled, and cooler, with highs of up to 14°C as gusts also reach up to around 72 km/h.
