20 degrees and above: Summer heat in the Arctic Circle

09:00

20 degrees and above
Summer heat in the Arctic Circle

1/3
The TemperatureRadar shows midsummer heat in Alaska and north-western Canada.

Summer has spread to the far north in recent days, with temperatures north of the Arctic Circle passing 20 degrees.

In Kiruna, Sweden, temperatures are even reaching almost 30 degrees. The summer heat is not only evident in Scandinavia, but almost everywhere in the Northern Hemisphere.

For Alaska, north-western Canada and northern Siberia, temperatures are reaching 20 to 26 degrees.

Finding cooler temperatures north of the Arctic Circle is not easy at the moment. Only a few regions in northern Russia and along the Arctic Ocean in Canada are significantly "cooler" with temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees.
