Friday is a perfect day for an early morning, with a Blood Moon set to rise over the UK and Ireland.

The result of a partial lunar eclipse, our lunar companion will take on a red hue beginning around 03:33 am and peaking with 90% coverage around 05:12 am.

Not only will the colour be notable, but with the Moon located low on the south-western horizon it will also appear bigger than usual.

Unfortunately, Thursday's spreading rain is still hanging over parts of Ireland and the UK Friday morning masking the view.

There is better visibility across central to eastern England, as well as the south-west, where clouds clear shortly before the event peaks.

Keep an eye on the WeatherRadar to see how visibility will be in your area, and if you capture the scene be sure to send in your shot to the Uploader!
