An imposing shelf cloud was snapped in the village of Bawdsey Quay, Suffolk last week.

For most, a week of thunderstorms is a dreary affair, but for those seeking spectacular weather to capture on camera it couldn't be better!

As we see in this week's collection of user images, the stormy conditions offered imposing cloud systems, and a lighter touch of rainbows and sunsets as a farewell.

What makes a good shot?
