Your weather - Your shots

The countdown to Christmas is now truly underway with just over a week to go! If your stress levels are elevated, try taking your mind off of the season with a trip across the country in this week's user images.

Sunset

We start with this stunning sunset submitted by user K. Jankowski in Liverpool as the remnants of snow melt away on the ground beneath the burning red shades overhead.

Storm Arwen delivered devastation for thousands across the UK and Ireland last month, but the rough conditions also helped deliver views like these. Louis Hunt captured this rainbow on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, Scotland.

From the village of Mahon Bridge, Waterford, Lill Dunne sends these well-formed lenticular clouds. Lenticular clouds form when fast-moving warm moist air sweeps over mountainous terrain.

As the air rises, it cools. This causes excess water vapour to condense, leading to the lens-shaped or saucer-like cloud.

Our last shot of the week is a last look at autumn. Submitted from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire golden leaves line the path ahead, onwards to the winter solstice.

If you want to send your own images in for the last edition of 'Your weather - Your shots' before Christmas it's simple! Just tap the image icon in the top-right or click here.
