Half-term relaxation
Wind down activities for kids and adults

film night

Half-term is now underway across the country and you might be looking for some wind down activity inspiration for you and your children to enjoy.

Here are our ideas to help you all relax before the mayhem of school begins again.

Wind down by having a film night. Crack out your favourite family film and indulge in popcorn or even a nice hot chocolate covered in whipped cream and marshmallows. Make it extra cosy by cuddling up on the sofa under a blanket.

Maybe you could ask the children to draw a picture of something they enjoyed doing this half term. You could also re-read their favourite book when they go to bed or as children often enjoy telling their own stories, how about letting them tell you a story at bedtime?

There are also a few ways you can wind down after the kids have gone to bed.

When it's quiet, you can wind down by finally cleaning the house after a week of the children being home, you can even listen to some calming music while you do it as the satisfaction of clearing the space takes hold.

Or you could curl up on the sofa with a nice glass of wine and listen to your favourite album or play some video games or call one of your friends for a catch-up.

Meditating, yoga or even a nice hot bubble bath will also have a calming motive and can really relax you just in time for bed.
