It's a frozen end to the week as temperatures continue to dip under the influence of polar air.

Lows are widely under freezing point, with -5 °C in Glasgow and even chiller in more remote areas.

Winds are much calmer by Friday, which helps to relieve some of the cold's bite, before things begin to feel milder again by next week.
