Weather trend
Patchy rain and growing gusts

Weather radar map dated Tue 10.03 showing a band of rain in blue approaching Ireland from the Atlantic, with scattered showers across the UK and arrows indicating eastward movement.Patchy rainfall marks Tuesday with a heavier band moving in from the Atlantic.

Widespread cloud cover and foggy mornings start the week, with temperatures firmly back to around the seasonal average after the early burst of warmth.

Remaining mostly cloudy across the UK on Tuesday with some rain too, first in the west before it heads east. Though as the rain eases on its way, gusting winds gain strength into the evening.

The wind remains a factor on Wednesday, though clouds begin to turn patchy offering more sunshine than we've seen in recent days.

In Ireland, the picture is similar. A mix of clouds, sunny spells, and showers to start the week before heavier rainfall by Tuesday evening.

The week is set to close with stronger winds across both countries. With gusts reaching up to around 50 mph in southern Wales.

A colder end to the week then follows on Friday, perhaps bringing frost and ice to parts of Ireland in the morning.
