Watch the moment a massive avalanche roared down the mountain towards the Sundance ski resort, Utah.

On Monday 27th March, skiers at the Sundance ski resort in Utah bore witness to an avalanche streaming down Mount Timpanogos.

While it looked like it could have come close to the ski resort boundaries, it came to a halt in the dry lakes area just outside. The skiers did still get hit by white-out conditions as the powder cloud swept in.

A powder cloud is a result of a dry avalanche. As the snow rushes through the air it kicks up a layer of powder, which comprises only about one percent snow and 99% air.

Skiers affected by the powder cloud said they experienced white-out conditions for one to two minutes, though no one was injured from the avalanche.
