Two tornadoes have officially been confirmed to have occurred earlier in the week across England.

On Monday 15th April, two tornadoes developed on a squall line that moved across much of England and Wales early in the day.

The first, occurred in Knutton in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, at approximately 06.33 am. The damage included an over-turned caravan as caught on CCTV as shown above, plus further damage to buildings and fences.

The second then occurred in West Bridgford, Nottingham, at approximately 07.33 am with a slightly weaker intensity than the previous one. Numerous roof sheathings and chimneys were damaged, with roads impassable in the area as trees were also uprooted.

Both tornadoes have been officially confirmed and logged by ESWD.
