Torrential downpours & flood risk

Weather warnings in force for heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Heavy and thundery showers are expected to develop on Wednesday night and into Thursday.

Following on from the daytime theme of sunshine and showers, scattered showers are expected to persist into the evening and overnight too.

Showers will be hit or miss and not affect everyone, though are largely expected to impact portions of central and southern England.

Through Thursday 5th September daytime, more organised spells of rain are expected, with a renewed risk of thundery bursts continuing into Friday too.

While some areas will remain dry, those who get hit by the heavy showers may see torrential downpours, bringing a risk of flash flooding and surface water.

Be sure to keep your eye on the WeatherRadar to see what will affect your area in the coming days, as the risk of thunderstorms persists into Friday too.

Gusty winds and lightning are also a possibility, which can be tracked live on the LightningRadar.
