Thunderstorms continue
High pressure has temperatures rising

Tuesday sees the thunderstorm risk in north-east England, it shifts during the week.

After a period of generally unsettled and showery weather, a warmer change is on the way but thunderstorms stick around too.

First though, Tuesday remains rather unsettled and breezy thanks to low pressure. Sunny spells do arrive but so too do showers with chances of thunder.

It is Wednesday that conditions begin to shift. Still fairly changeable to start but showers become less frequent and temperatures hover around the average for this time of the year... before rising further towards the end of the week.

By Thursday, much warmer temperatures are expected as high pressure builds near continental Europe and a southerly flow brings their warm air north.

Highs around 25 °C on the day, climbing further into the bank holiday weekend up to around 27 °C in south-east England.

Despite the warmth, there is still a risk of isolated showers and thunderstorms. Uncertainty remains around the arrive of a Spanish Plume at the weekend which could result in much stormier weather in the south.
