Thunderstorm outbreak
Weather warnings for Saturday active

Warning map for thunderstorms in south-east England.

Weather warnings for parts of England are live for the weekend, which brings a good chance of thunderstorms breaking out.

Saturday begins with widespread rain across the UK and Ireland, with thunderstorms currently set to break out from around midday on the South Coast near Southampton.

Over the next hours there are further storms bubbling up in the Midlands and around London, continuing to push east. By Sunday, these will have eased.

In addition to the thunderstorms, some areas will see 30 - 40 mm of rainfall from the continuous showers and stormy conditions.

While Ireland will see plenty of rain, particularly in the morning, there are currently no signs of thunderstorm activity in the outlook.

Keep an eye on the WeatherRadar for the latest outlook at what to expect over the weekend.
