Can you spot it?
Some of the UK may see snow this weekend

Our WeatherRadar depicts snow in pink, with some expected to fall over the hills on Saturday night, and again on Monday. Our WeatherRadar depicts snow in pink, with some expected to fall over the hills on Saturday night, and again on Monday.

High ground of Scotland and northernmost England may see the first falls of snow this weekend, but do you know how to spot snow on our WeatherRadar?

Snow is shown on the WeatherRadar by the colour pink. The darker the pink, the heavier the predicted snowfall intensity.

We also show when snow could occur on the 90 Minute Weather, at the top of the homepage and in the 14 day weather section. This is shown by a weather symbol, depicted in the graphic below.

For snowfall, should you see one snowflake against a cloud, it means there will be some light snow showers and with two snowflakes suggesting heavy snowfall.

You may see some different weather symbols that have a snowflake on such as one that shows a raindrop with a snowflake against a cloud, this represents sleet, but if there is a lightning bolt and a snowflake, this means thundersnow. Thundersnow was recently seen in the Northeast US.
