Rain to intensify
A wet Olympic Opening Ceremony?

Rain could intensify just after the start of the Opening Ceremony.

The Paris Olympics of 2024 officially begin on Friday 26th July, but how is the weather looking for the opening ceremony?

Friday will see plenty of cloud in the lead-up to and during the opening ceremony, with outbreaks of showery rain expected.

At the time of the opening ceremony beginning, 7.30 pm local time to Paris, the WeatherRadar shows showers could be lighter at first, though a greater chance of heavier rain getting in later.

Temperatures will be reaching a peak of around 24°C during the daytime, staying around this mark for the start of the opening ceremony.

As the evening wears on temperatures will drop to around 22°C; staying fairly muggy with further showery rain overnight.

A gentle to moderate breeze on the WindRadar too, with winds gusting between 12-14 mph, so the risk of the Olympic torch being blown out is very minimal!

While the UV will be low for the opening ceremony and day one of the Olympics, it is set to soar to high indices of 7 as the temperatures rise and the sun prevails in the coming days.
