Overnight snowfall has resulted in some disruption Friday morning, with snow settling over higher ground.

In Cumbria, the A66 was closed in both directions to start the day. Leading quickly to a build-up of traffic with reports of a HGV having lost grip, spinning off of the road.

Heavy rain has also caused issues. Roads around Dublin Airport flooded in the night resulting in closures and tough driving conditions.

Throughout Friday, snow continues pushing south, still with rain in tow. The generally unsettled conditions ease for the weekend.

By Saturday, the skies are clear and bright, although temperatures widely drop to below freezing to start the day.
