Persistent rainfall
Washout for many on Tuesday

Rain continues to spread through the morning.

Tuesday will be a washout for many areas of the UK and Ireland, with widespread rain moving in from the Atlantic.

From the morning, Ireland has been mostly covered by the precipitation, which has now pushed over Wales and parts of England.

From the afternoon, Ireland sees a shift to showers, while Wales can expect the most consistent rainfall throughout the day.

Despite the conditions, there are only four flood alerts active, all in England. Three of these, in Norfolk, Hertfordshire, and West Sussex, are due to strong coastal winds bringing high waves onto shore.

Flood warnings are a live service and can be updated at any time.
