Multiple funnel clouds were spotted over the UK on Tuesday, convergence lines leading to their appearance.

Funnel clouds, which resemble tornadoes, were pictured in Tredegar, Wales, and over the Pennines.

The reason these clouds resemble tornadoes, is because they form in the same manner their more dangerous counterpart does.

On Tuesday, convergence lines formed in both areas that the funnel clouds were spotted.

No need to worry

Although these clouds look like tornadoes, they cannot produce the dangerous gusting winds of one.

These are lines of clouds which remain relatively stationary, therefore capable of delivering large amounts of rainfall and thunderstorms in a local area.

One of these lines was visible on the WeatherRadar and WindRadar over western Wales.
