No sign of frost: Very mild start to November in Europe

No sign of frost
Europe: Mild start to November

Map of Europe showing temperatures ranging from 9 to 25 degrees, warm in the south, cool in the north.
TemperatureRadar: There is no sign of cold weather in Europe.

November starts off very mild in most regions of Europe, thanks to the influence of a pressure set-up over the UK and Ireland.

Winter temperatures with frost are only found in Western Siberia and some mountainous regions in Scandinavia.

In Southern Europe, late summer highs of between 20 and 25 degrees are even possible. In Cyprus, temperatures could even reach almost 30 degrees at the weekend.

The reason for this is a strong low-pressure system over the Atlantic. With the help of a high-pressure system over the UK and Ireland, mild Mediterranean air is flowing far into Northern Europe. Even north of the Arctic Circle, temperatures are above freezing away from the mountains.

There will be little change in the temperature distribution next week.
