The first week of December will end on a stormy note for some as weather models indicate a deep Atlantic weather system will affect most of northwestern Europe.

Our weather pattern remains active for the rest of this week as several areas of low pressure will bring more windy and unsettled weather. A more significant system is set to develop to our southwest early on Friday, bringing a risk of strong winds, heavy rain and hill snow through at least early Sunday.

Some details are still unclear at this stage as the exact track and intensity are uncertain. This will ultimately affect which regions of Britain will see the strongest of the winds, but coastal parts of Wales, southwest England and the North Sea and Channel coasts could see severe gales for a time.

Keep an eye on the WindRadar as well as subsequent forecast updates here to get the latest on how this low pressure system, which may be named DARRAGH if it gets strong enough, will develop.
