Nearly 50 degrees
Extreme heat in Australia

The TemperatureRadar shows values of up to almost 50 degrees in south-eastern Australia.

Many regions of Australia are currently experiencing record-breaking heat. Local highs of almost 50 degrees are being recorded, particularly in the south-east of the country.

Highest values on TuesdayTemperatureRadar

In the metropolis of Melbourne, where the Australian Open is currently taking place, temperatures could reach up to 45 degrees on Tuesday. The heat is an enormous strain on the body, especially for athletes, but also for everyone else.

Bushfires are spreading

In addition, there is a risk of several bushfires in the state of Victoria. Some areas are under threat and the residents of more than 1,100 households have been evacuated. The flames can spread quickly due to dry vegetation and strong gusts of wind.
