Main impacts in the south
Glancing blow from Storm Ivo

Storm Ivo is bringing glancing impacts across the south of England and Ireland today as it reaches France.

The band of rain associated with Ivo stretches across the southern English coast this afternoon. With gusting winds again reaching southern Ireland, recently impacted by Éowyn.

By Wednesday night, wind gusts grow to around 60 mph in the south-west of England, around Falmouth, before easing by Thursday midday.

Ivo is part of a cold front, this passes the UK and Ireland overnight into Thursday, bringing a chillier morning than recently seen.

By next weekend, temperatures do rise again, but not before falling below 0°C for many, including in London.

Storm Ivo was named by the Portuguese Met Office, not our own. Similar to Storm Herminia seen on Monday, named by the Spanish Met Office.
